Making the invisible visible
Strategic learning, collective & individual sensemaking
Hi, I’m Julia, scribe, visual facilitator and process host.
I believe that groups hold wisdom, creativity and intelligence that can emerge when the right conditions are created.
I help make this collective potential visible and accessible through visual stories, imagery and carefully hosted processes — supporting organisations, teams and networks to surface what they have learned, make sense of it together, and give it a form that can travel.
The space between
My work lives in the space between strategy, regeneration and creativity:
where groups find their direction, stay resourced, and imagine freely.
How I work
Sense
We begin in conversation: deep listening, questions, surfacing the tacit — what you know, and haven't yet said.
Make sense
I distil patterns, tensions, through-lines and metaphors: a sensemaking partner alongside you, not an evaluator delivering findings.
Make visible
Visual stories and artefacts that hold your learning in a form that travels. Live harvests emerge in real time; strategic illustrations we craft with depth — for orientation, shared understanding and decision-making.
What grounds my work
A living systems mindset. I understand organisations, ecosystems and transitions as living processes, not machines. Endings, in living systems, can also become compost: releasing nutrients for whatever emerges next. I deepen this practice continuously, among other places in the community of theArt of Hosting & Harvesting Conversations that Matter as well as through other approaches.
Explorations the edges of possibility. I am drawn to projects, explorations and people venturing into territory where no template or clear plan exists yet.
A commitment to social justice. I am committed to continually examining my social positioning, privileges and
biases. I pursue this ongoing endeavour through training, coaching and conversation. It is essential to how I work. For larger processes and convenings I work in tandem with trusted co-hosts — among them colleagues from SOCIUS, the Berlin organisational development collective I'm part of.
About me
What I do + with whom
I work with teams, organisations and networks as a partner for strategic learning and collective sensemaking — supporting them to surface what they've learned, make sense of it together, and give it a form that travels. A visual thinker and creative at heart, I co-host process, sensemaking and self-care practices that invite groups to tap into their collective intelligence. Since 2020 I’m part of SOCIUS an organisational development collective in Berlin.
Supporting changemakers
I come to this work with more than a decade of professional experience working on social change in Europe. As program lead for the international network organisation MitOst, I headed the Advocate Europe idea challenge and incubator for European projects from more than 45 countries. I’ve acted as project manager for a digital campaign informing young Germans about the EU Elections and as consultant for the development of better working conditions in service sectors in Berlin.
Roots, practices + education
I am based in Berlin and hold a combined Masters Degree in Media Studies, Political Science and Public Law from the Universities of Mainz and Paris XII. I practice the Art of Hosting and Harvesting, Drawing Systems (Presencing Institute) and different forms of embodiment. My creative roots come from working with watercolour and acrylic paint, photography as well as journaling. I’m inspired by nature, yoga and cooking.

What people say
“Julia, your imagery is evocative and informative all at the same time. As always!”
– Vanessa Reid, Wolf Willow Institute of Systems Learning „Your visuals are a beautiful synthesis of colour, words and patterns. They illuminate the wholeness, the overall story while mapping the process and giving the essence of it“
– Maria Scordialos, Living Wholeness Institute“Julia has a magical ability to create spaces where people feel safe enough to pause, lean into the silence, and explore the unknown. In that space, something shifts—reconnecting us with our own creativity, the kind that feels like the true juice of life.”
